According to DaveScot at Uncommon Descent, Expelled is the #2 highest grossing political documentary.
How much better would Expelled have done if the evolanders at Panda’s Thumb and PZ Myer’s Phartngula hadn’t been encouraging each other to buy tickets for a different movie—and then sneak into see Expelled instead—in a PT-mafia scheme[1] to deprive the creators of Expelled profit.
Footnotes
[1]These schemes are posted by PT-mafia groupies on evolander sites. I have blogged about similar schemes in the past, e.g., posts that encouraged evolanders to game the RSVP system. In the case of the RSVP system, at least two evolanders have either admitted or were caught gaming the RSVP system. In the case of the “pay for a different movie” scheme, if anybody knows of an example of an Evolander chiming in to denounce these incitements to steal, let me know.[2]
[2]Update: We have one example, perhaps the first, of an official denouncement. PvM, a person empowered to create entries at Panda’s Thumb, notes in a comment below that “I do not encourage the stealing of revenues from Expelled producers, and neither do any of the PT contributors.” But he should have told Stacy S.

Interesting use of statistics…

I do not encourage the stealing of revenues from Expelled producers, and neither do any of the PT contributors.
Looking forward to your corrections.

Average U.S. dollars per theater ($/theater) is a metric.
Your “correction” is here for all to see. Is this the first you or any of the PT-mafia have condemned the suggestion to buy a ticket for one film, but sneak into Expelled instead?
If not, a link (or links) would be appreciated.

Regarding the metrics that DaveScot used, see the link to Uncommon Descent in the sources section. The citation is right in the sentence for Pete’s sake. “According to…” If you want to challenge DaveScot’s metrics, you should talk to him directly.

This was a comment to one of your blog entries at Panda’s Thumb, PvM.
Please show me where you denounced this idea in that thread.

PvM, typical evolutionist argumentation.
“What makes you believe that I read all the comments?”–PvM
Sure, you bet. Hence the pre-emptive: “Remember that we do not control the comments.”–PvM
And, typical evolutionist research. I quoted Dave, and provided the link in the article in the sources section.
Since you can’t be bothered to perform rudimentary mouse clicks, he cited DaveScot’s source.
Just can’t win today can you?

Thank you for admitting that I usually ‘win’ even in this case, your quoting of Davescot as a resource was quickly undermined by your own comments and the facts of the case. So much for relying once again on unchecked secondary sources.
And you still have not explained why you accused the PT crowd without any evidence other than that one of the commenters misbehaved?

Now you’re delusional.

Did you read the post by Stacy S. PvM?

Why no updates now that the final figures are in? You’re not in a hurry to tell us that Expelled didn’t even make the $3 million mark? That it was the only movie in the top 50 to make less money on Saturday (dropping 18%). That it dropped another 21% on Sunday? You’re all about the truth, right?

Why haven’t you posted yet that Premise Media is being sued by Yoko Ono and John Lennon’s sons for using ‘Imagine’ without authorization?
I guess some would consider that stealing. Don’t you think so?
By Pandora on Apr 24, 2008
What is your prediction of the Yoko Ono lawsuit, Pandora?
I read about it and am still trying to figure it out.
I was quite confident that the XVIVO lawsuit would go nowhere.
Here, I am not sure, it could go either way, pending additional research on my part.

Derbyshire reviews Expelled and Berlinski and Derbyshire spar. Berlinski’s outrageous claims remind me of those calling Darwinism a necessary component for the Holocaust.
